Did you see vandalism in Kingston last night?

police

ACT Policing is seeking witnesses following an incident of significant property damage to a commercial building in Kingston early this morning (20 November).

About 4.10am, police received a report that a male in dark clothing was using a timber post to damage the front windows of the building on Wentworth Avenue. The male then left the area.

ACT Policing attended and identified a damaged gas pipe to the rear of the building. ACT Fire and Rescue attended the location and secured the gas pipe.

Police believe the gas pipe was forcibly damaged, possibly by the same offender.

AFP Forensic Services will examine the area, including the timber post which was located protruding from an external window.

Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident on Wentworth Avenue or have any information that could assist police to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.
