Talented young musicians to shine at Wesley

TOMORROW’S Lunchtime Live series at Wesley Music Centre features the Combined Grammar Schools Flute Ensemble, a talented and dynamic group of young musicians will take to the stage from 12:40pm to 1:20pm—with a bit of help from more senior musicians.

Highlights of the concert will be Boismortier’s Concerto – Allegro, Adagio and Allegro and Enesco’s Cantabile et Presto with flautist Nicholas McCabe and Anthony Smith on piano.

Other works on the repertorie will be Ian Clarke’s “Zoom Tube” with Jamie Zhou as soloist, “Concerto for Flute and Clarinet,” – Presto with soloists Jessica Zhang on flute and Jessica Wu on clarinet and Holberg’s Suite – Prelude, Sarabande and Rigaudon.

The Flute Ensemble comprises the most advanced flute students from years 7 to year 12 from Canberra Grammar and the Girls’ Grammar schools. The ensemble is under the guidance of Teresa Rabe.

CGS Flute Ensemble and Friends, at Wesley Music Centre, 20 National Circuit, Forrest, Wednesday, September 10, 12:40pm to 1:20pm, $5 minimum, concession $2 – pensioner, full-time student, children under 12.   Refreshments $2. No bookings required. Tickets at the door.
