Wesley musicians in concert

WESLEY Music’s Instrumental Scholars are its pride and joy, and the public can see them perform in the Wesley Music Centre tomorrow, Wednesday, September 24 from 12.40 to 1.20pm.

The works on the program include Franz Schubert’s String Quintet in C Major – Scherzo, Arvo Pärt’s “Spiegel Im Spiegel” and selections from Bernard Andrès’ ‘Chants d’arrière-saison’.

The performers will be Ciaran Edwards-McKeown, Rowan Phemister, Alys and Emma Rayner, Matthew Ventura, Caleb and Esther Wong. Eunice Wong will also appear in the ensemble.

Edwards-McKeown is studying classical guitar performance with Timothy Kain at ANU. Phemister is a Year 12 student from Yass, studying the harp with Alice Giles. Alys Rayner is studying the violin with Barbara Jane Gilby. Emma Rayner has studied cello with teachers including Julian Smiles and Lindy Reksten. Ventura is studying bassoon with Rick McIntyre at ANU. Caleb Wong studies cello under Uzi Wiesel. Esther Wongis currently studying harp with Alice Giles, piano with Arnan Wiesel and violin with Barbara Jane Gilby. Eunice Wong studies viola with Anne Louise Comerford.

Wesley Music Scholars, at Wesley Music Centre, 20 National Circuit, Forrest, Wednesday, September 24 – 12:40pm to 1:20pm, Entry $5 minimum, concession $2. No bookings required. Tickets at the door.
