police

ACT Policing is appealing to a man who may have witnessed a sexual assault in Glebe Park, Civic, on Saturday night (November 29).

A 35-year-old woman was walking from the City Bus Interchange around 11.30pm when a man, whom she knew as an acquaintance, offered to walk with her.

As they walked through Glebe Park the woman was sexually assaulted by the man. During the assault the woman saw a Caucasian man watching.

Police would like to speak to this man as he may be able to assist the investigation and urge him to contact ACT Policing on 131-444 or via Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

A 26-year-old man has been arrested over this incident and will face the ACT Magistrates Court this morning, charged with five counts of sexual intercourse without consent and one charge of damage property.
