Yarralumla trees an unexpected victim of Parliamentary Triangle pay parking

A reader with an interest in matters botanical has sent us pictures from along Alexandrina Drive.

The introduction of pay parking in the Parliamentary Triangle has a great number of intrepid souls parking under the trees and riding bicycles to their offices.

The problem that arises is the parking along the lake shore was never intended to handle this sort of regular volume and the tree roots are being exposed as their soil is being compacted.
