ACT Policing arrested a 19-year-old woman after she assaulted two police officers at GIO Stadium during a football game on Friday night (20 June).

During the second half of the game, a fight broke out in the crowd when an off-duty police officer intervened to de-escalate the situation. Uniformed police officers then attended the fight when the 19-year-old from Spence, spat at and punched one officer in the face and kicked another.

The woman will attend the ACT Magistrates Court on 4 July to face four charges of common assault.
