Zed promises better days for Constitution Avenue

LIBERAL Senator Zed Seselja says construction is about to commence on the $42 million upgrade of Constitution Avenue.

Zed says the upgrade is a major Australian Government infrastructure project that will revitalise the road corridor, improve accessibility and create jobs. Funded in celebration of Canberra’s centenary, the project will give Constitution Avenue a new lease on life and boost the local economy.

The upgrade involves replacing the road infrastructure, new lighting, street furniture, large pedestrian zones and approximately 220 new oak trees that will make this an inviting space for Civic’s booming café culture to expand towards the lake.

“In 12 months, Constitution Avenue will be completely transformed and locals can expect to see a lot of new residential and hospitality investment in the area in the future. Guideline ACT were recently awarded the contract for construction,” Zed said.

“The Constitution Avenue funding contained in this year’s budget is reflective of the Coalition’s ongoing commitment to invest in the infrastructure that keeps our cities moving.”
