THE ACT has recorded its sixth road fatality this year when a car ran into a tree and caught fire on Ginninderra Drive, Latham, early this morning, killing the driver.
About 4.55am, police responded to a collision on Ginninderra Drive, westbound, ACT Fire and Rescue were at the scene and extinguished a fire. ACT Ambulance Service also attended.
The collision resulted in fatal injuries to the driver. There was no one else in the car at the time.
Ginninderra Drive remains closed westbound between Kingsford Smith Drive and Tillyard Drive.
THE Collision Investigation and Reconstruction Team is investigating and will prepare a report for the ACT Coroner.
