Another ram-raid hits arcade jeweller

gungahlin ram raid

THE Gungahlin Village shopping centre was ram-raided around 5am today as thieves drove a stolen car through its rear doors and into an arcade jewellery store.

It the second aggravated burglary in as many days in which a stolen vehicle has been used to force entry inside a shopping centre to rob a jewellery store. Police believe this incident may be linked to an aggravated burglary at the Kippax fair shopping centre yesterday morning.

Police were called to the Gungahlin Village shopping centre after a silver Subaru Impreza wagon had been driven through the doors from a carpark at the rear of the complex. The car was driven through the arcade to the front of a jewellery shop where jewellery was stolen. The full value of the burglary is still being determined.

Police believed at least two people were in the vehicle.

After forcing entry to the jewellery store, the driver then drove from the complex through a second set of doors on Gungahlin Place.

The stolen vehicle used in the incident today was recovered on Ellenborough Street, Lyneham.
