TO mark its 15th year, Gold Creek’s Aarwun Gallery has invited 15 of its  longest-standing and best-loved artists to exhibit five pieces each in a celebratory exhibition called “5×15”. The opening night party included a performance by former “CityNews” Artist of the Year, David Pereira.

For 360  - Bboy Leerok - credit Conan Whitehouse“360 ALLSTARS” is a physical performance group that looks at all forms of rotation. With a cast of champion athletes, dancers and musicians, the production boasts that it connects “the street with the elite”. Think break-dancers, basketball freestylers and BMX flatlanders. THE popular “As I See It…” exhibition is running again. Organiser Dr Roger Meischke tells us that the exhibitors are watercolourist Carla Begbie, from Rossi, inspiring young Year 9 Campbell High student and photographer Sam Chapman and former Parliament House photographer Howard Moffat. Thursdays to Sundays at Cork Street Café in Gundaroo, until April 21.

BILK Gallery in Palmerston Lane, Manuka, has work by eight contemporary Thai artists on show until April 25. The show, “A New Negotiation”, was curated by Bow Wasinondh for ATTA Gallery in Bangkok, whose director Atinuj Tantivit is a contemporary art jeweller, collector and advocate who wants to bring the work of Thai artists to a wider audience.

LOCAL artist Barak Zelig’s work, showing in the protest-themed exhibition at M16, marks the 100-year anniversary of Marcel Duchamp’s “readymade sculptures” and the publication of “Metamorphosis” by Franz Kafka – most apt considering his concerns about the state of the world. At M16 Artspace, 21 Blaxland Crescent, Griffith, Wednesday-Sunday, noon-5pm, until April 12.

EXCITING young pianist Aaron Chew, one of Larry Sitsky’s star graduates, will join mezzo-soprano Veronica Thwaites-Brown on April 1 for a strange journey through songs from Schumann’s “Frauenliebe und -leben” and by Rodgers and Hammerstein as part of the Wesley Music Centre Lunchtime Live Series, 12.40pm-1.20pm. “The Moment I Saw Him”, at Wesley, 20 National Circuit, Forrest, entry $5 minimum, concession $2. Canberra Dance Development Project 1LAST year the Canberra Dance Development Project won the second prize of $3000 in the 2014 Sydney Eisteddfod McDonald’s Dance of Champions for a work choreographed by Paul Knobloch. ROOKWOOD Cemetery is calling for entries to its seventh annual “Hidden” exhibition, running  from September to October and bearing an award valued at $10,000. Last year Canberra’s Stephen Harrison had a sculpture installed there. Submissions may take the form of artist impressions or sketches with details of scale and materials.
