Assault in the Woden Bus Interchange

ACT Policing is appealing to a man who may have witnessed an assault at Westfield Woden on Sunday (January 11) to come forward.

About 2:25pm a 17-year-old male was assaulted by another male at an entrance to Westfield Woden, on the bus interchange side near the Homebase store.

The victim was with two friends entering the shopping plaza when a second group followed them inside, consisting of three males and two females. An argument has occurred with a male from the second group becoming aggressive, punching the victim to the face before leaving the plaza, heading towards the bus interchange.

The victim was taken to The Canberra Hospital for treatment to a cut above his eye.

Police believe a man who entered the plaza at the time of the assault may have witnessed the incident and are appealing for him to come forward.

He is described as Caucasian in appearance, approximately 180cm (5’11”) tall with a heavy build. He was wearing a blue T-shirt, light coloured baseball cap and light coloured pants.

The offender is described as Caucasian in appearance, between the age of 15-18-years-old, wearing a black baseball cap, white collared shirt, tan pants and dark coloured shoes.
