ETSY, for the uninitiated is the internet’s home of handmade wares for sale.

The Canberra Etsy Team (Canetsy) has announced they are putting on an Etsy Made Local market, at the Quokka Pavilion, Exhibition Park on Saturday November 28.

“It’s part of a national one-day event that will see Australian cities from coast to coast celebrating the makers, designers and collectors that make up the creative community selling on Etsy.com, the online marketplace for handmade and vintage goods, and encouraging people to look locally for this year’s Christmas gifting,” said Aimee Cowie, the market manager.

“More than 50 local Etsy sellers will be selling at the Canetsy Etsy Made Local market, with products ranging from unique jewellery to home decor. The event will give the people of Canberra a chance to discover some of the best of the city’s creative community, allowing them to connect with and buy directly from local makers and designers. As well as providing the perfect opportunity to find unique, affordable and meaningful gifts in the lead up to Christmas, the event will also include workshops, face painting, live music, food and drink vendors plus plenty of parking and an ATM on site.

“Etsy Made Local is a great opportunity to meet local makers in the Canberra region and find handmade, unique gifts for everyone on your Christmas list, plus a few treats for yourself!
