Clenched fists earn a pepper spraying at the Greenway Centrelink

police

ACT Policing arrested a 31-year-old woman of no fixed abode after a disturbance at Centrelink in Greenway yesterday (Monday 29 June).

About 12.45pm, police attended Centrelink on Anketell Street and Reed Street, Greenway, after a report of a disturbance.

On attendance, police identified a woman behaving in an aggressive manner. The woman approached police with clenched fists and an ACT Policing member deployed Oleoresin Capsicum (OC) spray, arresting the woman. She was then taken to the ACT Watch House.

The woman will face the ACT Magistrates Court this morning charged with trespass, assault, affray and resist or obstruct a Territory Public Official.

Police are urging anyone who witnessed the incident and have not yet spoken with police to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously. Police remind people they should not report crime information via Facebook and Twitter pages.
