THE National Capital Authority (NCA) wants public comment on a Draft Development Control Plans (DCP) for the Lyneham Sports Precinct and the Yowani Country Club.

The Capital Metro Agency have submitted a request to the NCA to amend the current DCPs to allow for alternate access arrangements to the subject sites, which would otherwise be restricted should the ACT Government proceed with the proposed light rail development.

Draft DCPs 15/05 and 15/06 will amend planning and urban design provision for the site, primarily to permit access from Northbourne Avenue. A new access/egress point is proposed at a signalised intersection, generally in line with Swinden Street, providing shared access to both sites.

The objective of the Draft DCPs 15/05 and 15/06 is to ensure that developments adjacent to Northbourne Avenue, identified as an Approach Route under the National Capital Plan, achieves the consistency and quality reflective of the significance of the National Capital.

As the NCA is committed to community consultation, all submissions received will be considered before a decision on Draft DCPs 15/05 and 15/06 are made by the Authority (Board) of the NCA.
