Controlled burns across Canberra this week

THE ACT Parks and Conservation Service is advising that four prescribed burns will take place in the ACT this week, weather permitting, at Bruce, Aranda and Jerrabomberra.

  • Tomorrow, Wednesday 28 October 2015 a seven hectare prescribed burn will occur at the Gossan Hill Nature Reserve, Bruce.
  • On Thursday 29 October 2015, a one hectare prescribed burn will be conducted between Araba Street and Gungahlin Drive, Aranda.
  • A 13 hectare ecological burn at West Jerrabomberra Nature Reserve, near the Monaro Highway, Hume will also be conducted on Thursday 29 October 2015. A further one hectare ecological burn will be conducted on Friday 30 October, 2015 at East Jerrabomberra Nature Reserve, near Lanyon Drive Hume.
