Dickson laundromat smoking but not ablaze

fire brigade

FIREFIGHTERS are currently ventilating a Laundromat on Cape Street, Dickson clearing smoke.

Towels left unattended in a plastic bag containing a type of petroleum product generated enough heat over a period of time to fill the area with smoke.

There were no evacuations.

ACT Fire & Rescue are expected to depart the scene soon.

An employee discovered the smoke on opening the business.
