A man has been conveyed to The Canberra Hospital after sustaining serious injuries as a result of a single vehicle collision last Friday (February 20) night.

Around 11:45pm, a 29-year-old NSW man was travelling north on Coulter Drive, Evatt in a Ford Falcon station wagon

At the intersection with Ginninderra Drive and Coulter Drive the driver has failed to turn either left or right.

The station wagon has continued straight across the intersection, colliding with a traffic signal before mounting a kerb and becoming airborne for a distance of almost 16 metres.

The vehicle has landed in an earth bank and struck a tree before coming to rest.

The 29-year-old man was transported to hospital with serious, but not life-threatening injuries.

Anyone who witnessed, or has information about the collision and has not yet spoken with police is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
