Fatal collision in Monash

police

ACT Policing Collision Investigation and Reconstruction Team (CIRT) are currently at the scene of a fatal motor vehicle collision in Monash.

Around 1:15pm, police responded to a two car collision on Erindale Drive, Monash.

Upon police arrival, a male driver of one of the vehicles was receiving medical assistance from members of the public.

Due to the injuries sustained in the collision, the male driver was unable to be revived.

This is the seventh fatality on ACT roads. Officers from the Collision Investigation and Reconstruction Team will investigate the collision and prepare a brief for the Coroner.

East bound on Erindale Drive is closed between Taverner Street and Drakeford Drive and will remained closed until the completion of the investigation.

Police request motorists avoid this area when travelling home this afternoon and take an alternate route. The road will be closed for many hours.

Police are again reminding Canberra drivers to drive according to the wet and slippery road conditions. Slow down, turn on head lights and increase stopping distances.
