Fire at the AIS Arena

ACT Fire & Rescue is responding to reports of a small fire inside the AIS Arena at Bruce.

The first fire crew has arrived to find a smoke coming from the roof of the AIS Arena.

Firefighters are investigating.

Another two fire pumpers, HAZMAT unit and commander are also on route to the site.

A small fire was discovered in a transformer connected to lighting in the roof of the AIS Arena and quickly extinguished.

Damage has been contained to the immediate are surrounding the fire.

Firefighters have now started ventilating smoke from inside the arena.

ACT Fire & Rescue was alerted to the fire by staff who called Emergency Triple Zero (000).
