FIREFIGHTERS are responding to reports of smoke coming from the ceiling of a house in South Tuggeranong.

ACT Fire & Rescue was alerted to the incident in Chevalley Loop at GORDON at 12:06pm.

Fire crews have arrived on scene and confirmed smoke is coming from the ceiling.

Occupants safely self evacuated and called Emergency Triple Zero (000).

Firefighters are currently accessing the roof space to look for any sign of fire.

Firefighters have been unable to find the cause of the smoke which has now cleared.

Investigations are continuing with the help of the home owner.

Firefighters found a tray with leftover food had caused the smoke.

ACT Fire & Rescue has now left the scene.
