Hit and run driver wanted after school crossing collision

ACT Policing is investigating a collision between a car and a pedestrian on Starke Street, Holt.

About 8.55am, police attended a collision where a car had collided with a 13-year-old boy at a school pedestrian crossing on Starke Street, Holt. The female driver of the car stopped, however she did not provide details before leaving the area.

The ACT Ambulance Service attended and transported the 13-year-old boy to The Canberra Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

The driver of the car is described as a female with dark hair wearing business attire. The car is described as a black SUV and may have sustained some damage to the front during the collision.

The ACT Policing Collision and Investigation Team are investigating the collision.

Police are calling for the driver of the car to come forward and make contact with police by attending a police station or calling 131-444.

Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or have any information that could assist police to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously. Police remind people they should not report crime information via Facebook and Twitter pages.
