JUST when you thought Civic had been entirely deserted by the arts, Canberra Contemporary Art Space has launched its newest venture — CCAS City Gallery — with a solo exhibition, “Fritz Who?” by local artist Brian Smith.

Formerly known as Kaori Gallery, it’s in the Canberra City Framing shop on the corner of London Cct and Hobart Place, and joins CCAS’s main gallery in Gorman House and CCAS in Furneaux Street Manuka.

CCAS says it “aims to have adventurous exhibitions that audiences will find both challenging and riveting.”

Canberra City Framing owner/director, Michael Cammack, a graduate of the ANU School of Art, describes the new exhibiting venue as “a great pleasure”, one that enhances his thriving framing business and helps cement the location as an arts hub in Civic.

CCAS City Gallery, in Canberra City Framing, Corner of London Cct and Hobart Place, Admission free. Monday to Friday, 9am to 5:30pm and Saturday 9am to 1pm. Phone 6248 8328.
