Knife man strikes Braddon supermarket

A SHOP assistant was threatened in an aggravated robbery of a small supermarket on Lowana Street, Braddon, late yesterday afternoon.

Police-station-0553-175x175About 6pm, a man threatened a staff member of the shop with a knife, demanding cash. The victim complied and the offender fled towards Northbourne Avenue.

Police say the assailant is described as being of Caucasian appearance, tall with a slim build and wearing a maroon/purple hooded jumper with a face covering and sunglasses.

During the incident the offender dropped an empty bag, which police are using for forensic examination.
