Luminous singers celebrate the seasons

‘Luminescence’ is the noun for ‘Luminous’ and that aptly describes the Chamber Singers performing at this Wednesday’s Lunchtime Live Concert in Wesley Music Centre.

Featuring little-known composers and seasonal music, it celebrates the complexity and beauty of a cappella music.

Luminescence Chamber Singers was formed in 2013 under the direction of Canberra composer and conductor Daniel Brinsmead. An eight part vocal ensemble, it is comprised of past and current students who’ve studied for a Bachelor of Music majoring in classical singing or composition or have extensive experience performing in the Canberra community.

The group recently organised a concert of local choirs mentored by them, including the newly formed Luminescence Children’s Choir.

“Luminescent Life: A Concert of Favourites,” Wesley Music Centre, 20 National Circuit, Forrest, 12.40 – 1.20pm, Wednesday, October 21. Entry $5 or donation. Refreshments $2. No bookings required. Tickets at the door.
