It’s an opportunity to hear some of Canberra’s best young pianists and should be inspiring for families with children wishing to learn piano.

Since 2009, Cull’s students have performed regularly in this concert series to the delight of their audiences. They consistently achieve outstanding results in competitions, including the Australian National Eisteddfod, the Janice Battisson Awards and the Sydney Eisteddfod. In August this year at the Australian National Eisteddfod they won 28 first places, 25 second places and 16 third places.

A teacher and mentor, Cull is enthusiastic in organising events in Canberra and surrounds that allow her students to demonstrate their considerable talents.

Her own piano studies began with Ann Thompson and then under John Luxton at the Canberra School of Music. Moving to Vienna, she studied with the inspirational teacher, Sally Sargent, who had been a student of Marcel Ciampi and Nadia Boulanger. Marie’s teaching continues in this tradition.

She is currently vice president of the ACT Keyboard Association and a Performance Teaching Fellow for tertiary students at the ANU School of Music.
