Meat cleaver robbery at the Belconnen Bottle-O

ACT Policing is investigating an aggravated robbery that occurred at the Bottle-O bottle shop on Luxton Street in Belconnen on Monday night (22 June).

At about 10.30pm a man entered the shop armed with a meat cleaver and demanded money from the cashier. The offender then left with the cash-till and other stolen items from the store.

The offender was wearing a black face mask and was seen fleeing the scene in a silver coloured vehicle, with at least two other passengers on board.

ACT Policing and AFP Forensic Service attended the scene. Investigations are ongoing.

CCTV footage of the incident is being obtained and will be distributed.

Police are urging people who may have witnessed the incident, those who were around Luxton Street in Belconnen at the time, or have any information that could assist police to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via act.crimestoppers.com.au and quote reference number 5818119.

Information can be provided anonymously. Police remind people they should not report crime information via Facebook and Twitter pages.
