New togs for the ambos

JOY Burch has launched new uniforms the ACT Ambulance Service’s front line personnel.

“Emergency, non-emergency, communication centre and identified support personnel will all wear the new uniform,” Joy said.

“The new operational uniform has both female and male design. It is a darker shade of green compared to the old uniform and also has reflective lettering on the back of the shirt. Relevant insignia is also worn, which clearly identifies what different clinical skill set ACTAS officers have acquired in their career and their position within the organisation.

“This new uniform follows extensive consultation facilitated by the ACTAS Uniform Committee. In 2012 a comprehensive review of operational uniform, worn in front line operations was concluded. This review included discussion with ACTAS management, front-line personnel, industrial representatives as well as Work Health and Safety officers. Today’s launch is a result of the hard work the Committee undertook.

“From today the new ACTAS uniform will be worn which clearly identifies our ambulance officers working in the community.”
