Police investigating Amaroo house fire

A HOUSE fire in Amaroo has been deemed suspicious and is being investigated by ACT Policing.

About 11.45pm last night (Thursday, 3 December) police received a report of a house fire in Traine Court, Amaroo.

ACT Fire and Rescue attended and extinguished the fire. There was substantial damage to the house as a result of the fire.

One male was inside the house at the time of the fire. He was not injured.

Police are urging anyone who may have any information on the cause of the fire to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via www.act.crimestoppers.com.au and provide reference number 5890303. Information can be provided anonymously.

Police remind people they should not report crime information via Facebook and Twitter pages.

Following a more detailed investigation, the fire has been deemed non-suspicious. All further enquiries should be directed to the ESA Media.
