police

ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to a two-vehicle collision involving a black Nissan Navara utility and a Red Nissan X-Trail on Northbourne Avenue in Watson yesterday (Tuesday, 14 July).

About 4.50pm, the vehicles collided in the southbound lanes of Northbourne Avenue, near the intersection of Phillip street.

Upon arrival, ACT Policing commenced their investigations and examined severe damage caused to both vehicles.

The driver of the Nissan Navara utility, a 22-year-old Melba man, underwent a roadside breath test which returned a positive result, and later recorded a reading of 0.12 grams of alcohol per 210 litres of breath. The man will face the ACT Magistrates court later this month facing charges relating to drink driving and driving with a disqualified license.

Police are calling for information from anyone who may have witnessed the collision or have any information that could assist police to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 and quote reference number 5827995 or via act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.

Police remind people they should not report crime information via Facebook and Twitter pages.
