Rifle and knife at Coles in Curtin

ACT Policing Criminal Investigation detectives are investigating an aggravated robbery that occurred at the Coles Supermarket in Curtin last night (Sunday, 11 October).

Around 9.45pm, two men carrying a rifle and a knife entered the Supermarket approached staff members and made demands for cash.

The staff members complied with the demands and the two men fled the store with a sum of cash. They were last seen running across Theodore Street in Curtin and down a grass embankment near Yarra Glen.

Police attended and searched the area however the two male offenders could not be located. No one was injured during the robbery.

Both male offenders were described as being around 173cm (5’8”) to 175cm (5’9”) tall in height with Australian accents. Both were wearing black pants and black hoodies and both had their faces covered during the robbery.

Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or have any information that could assist police to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via act.crimestoppers.com.au and quote reference number 5867708. Information can be provided anonymously.

Police remind people they should not report crime information via Facebook and Twitter pages.
