Rocks thrown at cars in Calwell

ACT Policing is searching for witnesses after three cars were damaged by rocks in Calwell on Friday morning (April 3).

Around 1am, the cars were travelling along Tharwa Drive, Calwell, when a number of large rocks were thrown.

As a result, a large rock struck the front windscreen of one car, and two other cars sustained panel damage.

Tuggeranong General Duties officers responded to the incident and conducted a search of the area. Investigations are ongoing.

ACT Policing would like to remind the community that throwing rocks or other objects at moving cars is extremely dangerous and has the potential to cause serious or fatal injuries to the occupants.

Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or seen anyone loitering or acting suspiciously along Tharwa Drive, Calwell around 1am, last Friday (April 3) to contact ACT Region Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via act.crimestoppers.com.au.
