RSPCA to prosecute pair over burned kitten case

burned kitten

Yesterday, RSPCA ACT Inspectors asked the public for help on another horrific case involving a severely burned kitten that was dumped at the Weston shelter last Thursday night.

RSPCA ACT can now confirm that briefs of evidence against two people are being compiled to be submitted to DPP for prosecution in relation to this case.

Chief Executive Tammy Ven Dange thanked the community for helping RSPCA ACT Inspectors, “We are thankful that both the media and the greater Canberra community were so quick to share this story. As a result, we will be able to pursue some level of justice for the horrible injuries this poor kitten suffered.”

Let’s hope justice prevails and a hefty fine and jail sentence is handed down to these revolting evil wicked monsters. Usually the RSPCA get these cruelty cases to court and are let down by the pathetic slap on the wrist given by cold hearted animal hating Judges.

Lucy Grey said it well. Much harsher punishments for animal abusers are sorely needed. I think a hefty fine and all costs incurred including veterinary care and court costs etc. as well as some community service, a criminal record and a good behaviour bond. Even though it’s not about the money, perhaps if the scumbags are paying off a $15,000 fine for a few years it might serve as a reminder and a deterrent to others that it’s not worth it. Some of the sentences handed down recently are absolutely appalling. Justice system is not doing what it is meant to – just wasting everyone’s time and money.
