A STAFF member of a convenience store was threatened by a man with a hammer in Giralang early this morning.
The man entered theSeven-Eleven store on Canopus Crescent at about 3.05am, and threatened the staff member with a hammer, demanding cash. The staff member complied and the offender fled on foot with the money.
Police describe the man as Caucasian appearance, about 5’7” (170cm) tall and of a medium build. He was wearing a black jacket, dark pants, a black beanie and sunglasses.
The robbery continues the series of aggravated shop robberies over recent weeks.
Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has information that could assist police to call 1800 333000, or via act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.
