CANBERRA filmmakers have just 10 days to produce a seven-minute film for the popular “Lights! Canberra! Action!” short film festival.
Spokeswoman for the event, Dianne Ireland, tonight announced this year’s “special items”.
“Entrants are required to produce a Canberra-centric short film along the theme of Swings and Roundabouts,” she said.
As an additional challenge for the filmmakers, she said, there would also be a list of items that must be included in each film and filmmakers must include three of the following 10 items in their film:
- 1. The High Court
2. The Mandalay Bus
3. The gold tiles at the Legislative Assembly
4. The Chess Pit
5. ‘On the Road Again’ (Sculpture at Lyon’s Shops)
6. A set of scales
7. Swings in a suburban playground
8. A roundabout
9. A ferris wheel
10. An underpass
The top 12 films will be screened as part of the “Enlighten 2015” program in the Senate Rose Gardens at Old Parliament House from 8pm on Friday March 6, with entertainment from 7pm.
“Local film lovers are encouraged to bring a beanbag, chair or blanket and come along to enjoy a great night of films,” Ms Ireland said.
