Shotgun robbery at the Mawson Club

ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to an aggravated robbery in Mawson early this morning (Saturday 13 June).

About 1.45am, a man entered the Mawson Club on Heard Street, Mawson, and threatened a staff member with a shot gun, demanding cash. The staff member complied and the man fled the area on foot.

The man was described as being approximately 5’11” to 6’1” (180cm to 186cm) tall with a slim build, wearing a dark coloured hooded jumper, dark pants, white jogging shoes and a black and silver covering over his face.

ACT Policing attended the scene, spoke with several witnesses and sought CCTV from the area. Investigations are ongoing.

Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or any suspicious activity near the Mawson Club to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously. Police remind people they should not report crime information via Facebook and Twitter pages.
