ALL ACT Government sportsgrounds remain closed today due to the waterlogged conditions caused by this week’s heavy rain.

A spokesperson said the decision had been taken to prevent damage to the turf surfaces and in the interest of player safety.

The ACT Government hopes that today’s forecast fine weather will allow the fields to dry sufficiently to permit weekend competition, however it is by no means certain that all fields will be playable.

Players are advised to contact their individual clubs to determine whether the field they are scheduled to play on is safe to do so.
