Teenagers busted breaking into Dickson College

police

FOUR teenagers have been apprehended after breaking into Dickson College around 1am this morning.

Officers from Gungahlin and City Patrol attended the school after the security company detected multiple intruder alarm activations.

Upon arrival, police observed the four teenagers and apprehended two at the location. Two of the teenagers attempted to flee, but were apprehended a short distance away.

Acting Superintendent Jeff Knight said that while no property was stolen or damaged, the teenagers did enter the school building which is a criminal offence.

“While police investigations are ongoing at this time, actions like this can lead to criminal charges such as trespass.

“We believe that footage of this incident has been circulated via social media, so we are asking the people that may have received it to come forward and speak to police or Crime Stoppers,” Acting Superintendent Knight said.

Police are asking anyone who saw any suspicious activity around Dickson College early this morning or who may have received the video footage to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or ACT Policing Operations on 131 444.
