The darkness at the heart of town. Garema Place hit with mystery outage

WALKING through Garema Place at dusk last night I was a little surprised to find the space in darkness, with only the lights from the shops and restaurants to guide passersby.

Keeping the lights on is generally seen as a hallmark of civilisation.

A spokesperson for Shane Rattenbury has confirmed some sort of mystery issue is to blame.

TAMS are aware there is an issue and have been monitoring each night, they are yet to identify what the issue is but ACTEW will be down there today.

Don’t blink.

And has anyone noted the Stygian gloom in the car park at the back of the Canberra Theatre? Road works, fumbling for coin or credit card to pay the new parking fees before a show, then trying to walk safely to the theatre centre…
