police

MEMBERS from ACT Policing and the AFP Specialist Response Group travelled to Perth on Sunday (March 29) for the extradition of a 26-year-old man.

The alleged offender was wanted in the ACT on numerous offences including aggravated burglary, possessing an offensive weapon and a number of serious offences of violence.

An application for the alleged offender’s extradition was made to the Perth Magistrates Court on Monday 30 March and was successful.

Yesterday he was returned to the ACT, with members of the Specialist Response Group providing prisoner security while in transit. The offender was successfully conveyed and lodged at the ACT Watch House.

He will face the ACT Magistrates Court this morning (Wednesday April 1) where bail will be opposed.
