Uber promises they’re not operating in Canberra

WE were a little surprised to see ads on facebook promising the opportunity to earn $500 this weekend if we were to sign up as UberX drivers.

The wildly popular ride-sharing service cum unlicenced taxi replacement has prompted reviews of our local laws but nothing that would give them a green light to operate lawfully yet.

So having inquired as to what the ad was about we’ve had this reply:

No, we haven’t launched in Canberra yet, sorry for the confusion
