Unlicenced and very drunk in Turner

police

ACT Policing has charged a 40-year-old Weston man after he was detected with a blood alcohol reading of 0.330 in Turner yesterday (Sunday, September 20).

About 5.10pm police received a report from an off duty AFP member of a person driving erratically in Turner, nearly colliding with a parked car. The driver, who was currently disqualified, underwent a roadside breath test returning a positive result. He was taken to the City Police Station where a breath analysis was conducted, returning a high range blood alcohol reading.

The driver was arrested and charged with Drive While Suspension Notice in Effect, Drive While Disqualified and Drive Motor Vehicle with Alcohol in Breath. He will face the ACT Magistrates Court next month.

ACT Policing encourages every member of the public to call Police Operations on 131 444 if they observe or believe that someone is drink driving.
