11 units fighting Pialligo garbage fire

Share Canberra's trusted news:

ACT Fire & Rescue and ACT Rural Fire Service are working to extinguish a large grass fire burning in Pialligo, near the corner of Pialligo Avenue and Glenora Drive.

The Bushfire Alert and Warning Level for this fire has been set at ADVICE.

There are 11 units on scene.

Update to follow.

Firefighters are working to extinguish a pallet and rubbish pile fire in Pialligo, not a grass fire as originally reported.

The incident is located to the south east of the corner of Pialligo Avenue and Glenora Drive.

The fire is approximately 100 metres x 50 metres.

Firefighters are working with onsite personnel to bring the fire under control.

ACT Fire & Rescue expect the fire will continue to burn for an extended period of time because of the types of materials that are alight.
