LOCAL charity Marymead is the beneficiary of the annual Ladies Day race meeting at Thoroughbred Park tomorrow.
While admission to the six-race event is free through the gates, organisers are suggesting a gold-coin donation for Marymead.
The Saturday meeting also features the Canberra Outlet Centre Fashions on the Field, which is expected to provide colour and excitement during the afternoon. There will be entertainment from locals DJs.
Gates open at noon and registrations for the fashions on the field will close at 1.30pm.
Serious racegoers will be keeping an eye on TV sets at 5.10pm when locally trained Fell Swoop will compete for Group 1 glory at Roseville. Trained by Matt Dale, the horse has won eight of his last 11 starts, with two seconds, and more than $390,000 in prize money.
