A burglary, drug driving, stolen car trifecta

A 26-year-old man will appear before court this morning (Thursday, 21 April) charged with 9 offences relating to burglary, property and traffic related offences.

On Wednesday 20 April, police attended a residence in Downer following reports of a burglary. A 1991 dark green Toyota Soarer with stolen number plates was seen leaving the area prior to police arrival.

The vehicle was further sighted during the day in Ainslie, Lyneham and Kaleen, before being located by police on the Tuggeranong Parkway.

The man has been charged with three counts of burglary, fail to stop, dangerous driving, use unregistered and uninsured vehicle, plates calculated to deceive, unsafely maintained vehicle, unlicensed driver and drug driving. Police will oppose bail.

Investigations are ongoing into other offences committed by the offender yesterday.
