A new ActewAGL hoax

ACTEWAGL is warning customers about fake emails that look like an electricity or gas bills sent from AGL.

ActewAGL is advising customers to delete any emails that look suspicious and not to click on any links inside. These emails can contain links to malicious viruses that can corrupt your files.

Customers are able to confirm the legitimacy of bill emails from ActewAGL by checking the email address ends with @actewagl.com.au or by calling 13 14 93.

We’d like to reassure our customers that no ActewAGL customer data has been compromised.

Customers can report this hoax by visiting scamwatch.gov.au/report-a-scam, calling 1300 795 995 or emailing spam@agl.com.au

If you have received a hoax email and you are concerned about your account, please call ActewAGL on 13 14 93.
