THE ACT has recorded its first division one Lotto win for the New Year.
A Canberra woman in her 40s woke up this morning unaware she was a new millionaire after her entry in last night’s Monday Lotto scored a first division prize of $1 million.
“You’re making me nervous!” the flustered winner declared when a NSW Lotteries official contacted her this morning with the dream-come-true news she’d won a first division prize of $1 million.
“I’ve won $1 million – no way! I feel like this has to be a joke!
“I’m shaking at the moment! I’ve had such a horrible start to the year so the other day I decided I’d buy myself a Lotto ticket!
“I’ve barely had two cents to rub together – I even worked an extra shift yesterday to earn some extra money. Now I’ll be able to buy myself a home! This is wonderful for me and a great head start in life for my children!”
The winner has chosen to remain anonymous.
The division winning 10-game QuickPick entry was purchased at Nextra Hyperdome, Shop 6015A in the Hyperdome Shopping Centre, Anketell Street in Tuggeranong.
