A slew of charges follows Queanbeyan shooting

A man has been charged following investigations into an incident where a shot was allegedly fired at a home in Queanbeyan this week.

About 12.55am yesterday (Wednesday 20 January 2016), police were called to a home on Fergus Road, Karabar, after a shot was allegedly fired which hit the front of the home.

The occupants, a 31-year-old man, an 18-year-old man and a 17-year-old girl, were uninjured.

Police from Monaro Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene.

Following further investigations, about 7.45pm yesterday (Wednesday 20 January 2016), officers arrested a 46-year-old man in Anne Street, Queanbeyan and conveyed him to Queanbeyan Police Station.

A search warrant was also executed at a home on Anne Street where illicit drugs and other items connected to the offence were allegedly located.

A 46-year-old man was charged with ten offences:

  • Stalking / intimidation (x4);
  • Common assault (x3);
  • Cultivate prohibited plant (x2); and
  • Possess prohibited drug.

The man was refused bail to appear before Queanbeyan Local Court today (Thursday 21 January 2016).

Investigations into the matter are continuing.
