ActewAGL getting the power back on

spark gap

ACTEWAGL Branch Manager Works Delivery Clinton McAlister advises that power has now been restored to the northern Canberra suburb of Macquarie, and crews are continuing to work as quickly and safely as possible to have the power restored in Aranda, Kambah and O’Connor.

“Line restoration times were likely to be late afternoon and into the evening as crews are having to replace damaged powerlines, poles and overhead infrastructure,” Clinton said.

“We apologise to the 100 customers who continue to be without power. Unfortunately there has been significant damage to the network which has meant that we need to keep the power off while crews rectify the situation.

“Crews are working as quickly as possible to restore electricity to customers, but we also need to ensure the safety of crews and the public. At this stage it is likely to be this evening before all customers have their electricity restored.”
