Alleged Kingston cigarette thief nabbed

ACT Policing has arrested a 34-year-old Narrabundah man this morning (Friday, 29 January) for a burglary at the IGA Supermarket in Kingston.

At 4.15am Thursday 9 December 2015, the owner of the IGA attended the premises after being notified the alarm had been activated.

On arrival he discovered the back roller door to the premises was damaged and cigarettes were scattered on the floor behind the front counter. Approximately $25,000 worth of cigarettes was stolen from the property.

On Friday (29 January) the alleged offender was arrested and charged.

The man will appear in the ACT Magistrates Court this morning facing charges of burglary and theft.
