WARHOL Factory superstar and New York’s queen of underground satire, Penny Arcade, returns with her show “Longing Lasts Longer” at The Street Theatre, April 14. Then from April 15-16 at the same theatre, comedian Mark Swivel’s show about poverty, banking and the Bee Gees. “How Deep is Your Love?” tells how he fell in love with a bank in Bangladesh. FABULOUS attendance figures for the Tom Roberts exhibition at the NGA, with the final number of visitors reaching 131,878. This is the highest attendance to an Australian show at the NGA, they’re saying.

THE 2016 Spanish Film Festival features dramas, romances, thrillers and major box office hit comedies from across Spain and movies from Latin America, at Palace Cinemas, NewActon, April 19 to May 8. “Spanish Affair 2” opens the festival with the second instalment of a comedy based on the tensions between Spain’s regions. SELBY & Friends’ second tour of their 10th anniversary season is titled “Just ‘C’”. Super-violinist Susie Park joins Clancy Newman on cello and director Kathryn Selby on piano exploring piano trio works from Copland, Brahms, Shostakovich and Mendelssohn – all composed in the key of C major or C minor. BILK Gallery is exhibiting in ATTA Gallery, Bangkok’s contemporary jewellery gallery, reciprocating a visit here by Thai artists. Until May 14 they’re showing work by Bilk regulars Marian Hosking, Carlier Makigawa, Helen Aitken-Kuhnen and Johannes Kuhnen. As well as artists; Kath Inglis, Mark Vaarwerk, Melissa Cameron, Sean O Connell, Simon Cottrell, Mio Kuhnen and Larah Nott.

ART SONG Canberra’s next concert “Northern Lights” is in the Wesley Music Centre, 3pm, on Sunday April 10. Mezzo-soprano Christina Wilson joins pianist husband Alan Hicks to perform songs and piano solos from Nordic composers including Grieg and Sibelius, as well as Scottish favourites and Barber’s “Hermit Songs”. Tickets at the door only. No bookings.
